Regenerative Architecture in Practice
What does architecture look like when buildings, materials and landscapes do not merely reduce their impact, but actively contribute to a healthier living environment?
During ARCHITECT@WORK Rotterdam, Natrufied Architecture presents an exhibition showcasing four projects that demonstrate how regenerative architecture can take shape in practice. Each project explores a different aspect of the same design approach, united by one shared principle: the built environment should not only minimise its impact, but give back more than it takes.
PROJECT WALL by Studio Marco Vermeulen
Studio Marco Vermeulen designs for the future of our built environment. Based in Rotterdam, the practice works across architecture, landscape architecture, urban strategies, museums, exhibitions and innovative material applications. At the heart of every project lies the question of how design can contribute to an environment in which people, nature and climate exist in balance.
MATERIAL EXHIBIT: Regenerative Biobased Exhibit by SuperBio'S
In July 2025, SuperBios.nl was launched: an initiative by creative entrepreneur Wilma Dijkgraaf-Hofmeijer aimed at accelerating the transition toward a cleaner, regenerative construction and design sector.
The platform showcases practical, readily applicable biobased materials and products for (interior) architects and developers. New makers, as well as offerings from design studios and manufacturers, are emerging at a rapid pace. SuperBio’s increases the visibility of their products and encourages the sharing of knowledge, techniques, and applications. In doing so, it creates opportunities for high-quality innovation while supporting a rapidly expanding range of solutions.
ART by Jonas Vansteenkiste
Jonas Vansteenkiste (1984) is a visual artist and curator who develops a multidisciplinary practice in which architecture and psychology converge. His work, ranging from installation and sculpture to video, photography and drawing, investigates how spaces function as mental constructions.
BOOKSHOP by NAi Boekverkopers
NAi Boekverkopers is an independently operating quality bookstore specializing in architecture, urban planning, design, and landscape architecture. Since 1993, it has been located in the Netherlands Architecture Institute in Rotterdam, which has since merged into The New Institute. The bookstore is situated in a beautiful location in the cultural heart of the city, the Museum Park. Over the years, NAi Boekverkopers has developed into a bookstore where both professionals and interested museum visitors can find what they are looking for.
We offer a wide range of books from both international and national publishers: monographs on architects and architectural firms, landscape architecture, urban planning, spatial planning, scientific books and reference works, as well as architecture guides from both domestic and foreign sources.
