CC-PAINT

For years, Asona has a high-performance seamless acoustic ceiling system under the brand name Sonacoustic®, where various surface finishes can be supplied and installed. The builders of a new mosque in Doha Qatar (Pearl Mosque) had plans to provide the smooth surface of the ceiling with religious images and texts. However, this construction carries the risk that the paint would close the pores in the acoustic plaster surface and would, to a greater or lesser extent, negate the sound-absorbing effect of the ceiling. In collaboration with the laboratory of the University of Iserlohn, a new acoustic plaster was developed and tested, which made it possible to apply the paintings with very limited loss of the sound-absorbing quality of a new variant of the Sonacoustic® ceiling. Asona has named this new version of the Sonacoustic® ceiling “CC-paint”.
