LDCwood is the official Belgian supplier for ThermoWood®, including Ayous and Fraké. LDCwood manages the overall process from forest to final product, without intermediaries. In this respect, we assure continuous supply and superior quality. LDCwood is the only manufacturer from the Benelux that is officially member of the International ThermoWood Association, which enables the guarantee of this superior quality. As a result, LDCwood is the only manufacturer in the Benelux that may sell its products with the ThermoWood®-label. Annual inspections guarantee the quality and the proper implementations of the process. Thermo-Ayous and Thermo-Fraké are the result of thermally modifying these wood species to a higher durability class. Thermal modifications is a controlled pyrolysis process where wood is heated (>208°C) in a low-oxygen environment to increase its durability class. Thanks to this process, negative aspects of wood such as fungal growth, increased humidity levels, infestations of insects, expansion and contraction etc. will be reduced to a minimum or completely eliminated.
