A New Standard in Sustainable Interior Design
Erscheinungsdatum: 07.05.2025
A minimal environmental impact combined with outstanding quality and unmatched performance... Any product that delivers on this promise is bound to make an impact. That is exactly what Unilin Panels, part of the Unilin Group, achieves with Fibralux Biobased. This innovation, finished with the Master Oak top layer, sets a new benchmark in sustainable interior design.

Fibralux Biobased is the world’s first MDF board made from 100% recovered wood and a bio-based resin. The resin, derived from locally grown rapeseed and sunflowers, enables a CO₂ reduction of up to 80% compared to conventional adhesives, significantly reducing reliance on fossil resources. With no added formaldehyde, its emissions match those of solid wood—ten times lower than the E1 standard—contributing to a healthier indoor climate. Still unsure? Fibralux Biobased delivers the same quality as traditional MDF boards, with excellent mechanical properties, processability, and compatibility with a wide range of finishes, such as decorative panels or HPL.

100% Sustainable Materials
What makes this board so compelling—besides its exceptional sustainability and versatility—is that it pairs perfectly with the exclusive Master Oak range, as well as the 12 newly launched designs: 6 new Master Oak décors and 6 new Super Matt finishes. Master Oak is also the go-to sustainable alternative to real veneer and is now available as a finish on Fibralux Biobased. The result? A complete solution for projects built with 100% sustainable materials.

Premium Solution
Fibralux Biobased is the ultimate sustainable premium solution for furniture, wall cladding, and other decorative applications—ideal for both residential and commercial projects. It’s poised to redefine the future of decorative panels, and the market has already taken notice. Unilin Panels was awarded the Red Dot Award for Product Design for this innovation. In fact, this past April, Dutch designer Arno Hoogland paid tribute to Fibralux Biobased during Milan Design Week with a featured installation (photo below by Bram Spaan) in collaboration with Blok Plaatmateriaal.
