Translucency as a contemporary spatial strategy

Contemporary architecture and interior concepts are constantly searching for materials that combine design freedom with sustainability. An innovation that responds to today’s desire for a durable, soft appearance, potentially combined with light permeability, is Durasein® by DecoLegno, a high‑quality solid surface material.

What makes Durasein® by DecoLegno particularly noteworthy this year is its strong emphasis on translucency. It aligns with a trend focused on softness, transparency and light playfully moving through materials. Harsh shadows and sharp contrasts make way for a diffuse light effect that gives spaces a warm, calming radiance.
Durasein® Translucent is also formable and can be processed seamlessly. Like DecoLegno’s other solid surface materials, it is of exceptionally high quality and has a long lifespan, making it perfectly suited for intensive interior applications such as counters, wall cladding, custom furniture, sanitary spaces and hospitality interiors. While the standard collection mainly focuses on a solid, closed appearance, the Translucent range allows light to subtly play through the material.

Durasein® Translucent
Durasein® Translucent is offered in several variants: Weathered Wood, Starstruck, Gadthena and Frothy. The result is a unique interpretation of “solid surface.” Each of these four designs shares the ability to let light pass through subtly. This creates various effects with a comparable overall look.
