BABYLON

Babylon appeals to the imagination... Babylon, the world's first great city, was part of Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilisation. This is the birthplace of agriculture, livestock, astronomy, mathematics and writing. Cuneiform writing was created by people carving and drawing clay tablets and rock walls. And it is this technique of sculpting in clay that serves as the inspiration for the Babylon collection. The drawings could easily be called works of art: large clay tablets are modelled by hand with extreme precision and then translated into detailed creations reminiscent of chalk.
