The hand: our sensory link to the world

Imagining another world than our own begins with observing, sensing, feeling, and understanding what surrounds us; noticing the details in order to create a meaningful and sensitive encounter with a place.

Imagining another real world means integrating multiple complex parameters; fitting together volumes, control networks, flows, and force dynamics, all in service of an execution that respects the sensitivity of the intended response.

These two thinkers of tomorrow’s world share a common sensitivity expressed through drawing: whether in encountering a place (Antoine Daudré-Vignier) or in conceiving a project and bringing it to life (Harrison).

The ineffable connection between hand and mind in a dreamer of tomorrow’s world can be perceived in the drawings of these two creators, where time becomes embedded within the sensitivity of each of their works.

It is this time that allows the tensions necessary for forging a path—layer upon layer, line upon line—toward a thoughtful and sensitive solution.

In a world where we are promised automated, instantaneous, and dehumanized creation, feeling on paper the quality of reflection and the engagement of the senses will be the finest response.

Let yourself be carried by the desire to break your keyboard, shatter your mouse, and reconnect your thinking to the sensitivity of the world through the hand.
