For us, almost all building is also building on. This requires a different approach to the design process than building on a greenfield site. In Winterthur, this can be seen in the transformation of the Sulzer site in the city centre; the projects ‘Halle 181’, ‘Stadthäuser’ and ‘Krokodil’ are used as examples to discuss questions about the ‘art of building on’.
