Generosity in architecture!

Manal Rachdi, architecte fondateur, OXO Architectes

Passionate about drawing and nature since childhood, Manal Rachdi has found in architecture the means to reconcile her two loves. All his projects now incorporate large areas of vegetation - terraces, indoor forests, green walls - to (re)introduce a little countryside into the city.

Manal Rachdi and her agency OXO Architectes are now busy developing projects with the ambition of creating environments and systems that allow architecture to become sensitive and introduce nature into our daily lives. Post-carbon buildings that can change with the times without betraying their identity, while minimising their impact on the environment.

OXO Architectes works in both the public and private sectors, in France and abroad. Comprising a multicultural team of architects with diverse and complementary skills, OXO is responsible for the development of each project, from conception to completion. Upstream, the agency always carries out a great deal of what Manal Rachdi calls ‘sensitive archaeology of the context’. The teams search the depths of the site for all the information that can help them to design the project best suited to the urban context, the landscape, the weather, the way of life and the traditions. The key is to achieve a balanced dialogue between the architecture, the building itself, its uses and its environment.

OXO's architecture is bold and daring, but also remarkably sensitive to the client's context and requirements. Through a number of award-winning projects, OXO has forged an international reputation as a pillar of the new generation of architects.
