Horta Museum launches major restoration and renewal program

Data di pubblicazione: 11.02.2026

The Brussels Horta Museum (a UNESCO World Heritage site) is launching a major restoration and renewal program, with a total investment of €800,000. According to the organization, the project is part of a long-term vision that goes beyond routine maintenance.

The museum states that it aims to preserve the architectural and artistic integrity of Victor Horta’s house and studio in an exemplary manner. At the same time, it seeks to sustainably enhance the visitor experience and prepare for future adaptations to the visitor route. The program combines two key objectives: safeguarding an Art Nouveau masterpiece facing the effects of time and structural challenges, and gradually rethinking public reception and circulation to make visits smoother, clearer, and more immersive—while fully respecting the spirit and intentions of Victor Horta.

The completion of the first restoration phase is scheduled for November 2026. A second phase will follow in 2029, including the opening of the garden to the public and the redesign of the studio.
