MEDUSA

MEDUSA is a changing suspension lamp design that consists of two versions for different uses, both with a PCB LED installation that forms a light ring that is in harmony with its design. One is presented as a decorative piece that releases an ambient light from the static upper ring, enhancing the design of the lamp from above. And the other as a lighting option to illuminate surfaces with the light in the lower ring, so that the lamp has a more functional use, with the light becoming more important. In a market where personalisation and creativity are increasingly valued, MEDUSA allows each person to play an active role by changing the shape of the lamp at any moment. This offers a more interactive experience, offering a unique and versatile solution. By allowing the consumer to be a co-creator of the product, a stronger emotional bond with the object is fostered, making it more valuable and creating an immersive user experience. The customer is no longer just a passive recipient of a product, but an active part in its creation. MEDUSA, “jellyfish” in spanish, is a design of Fernando Martínez. He was inspired by the movements of the marine animals from which it takes its name, the elegant ballerinas of the sea that, with their hypnotic choreography, glide lightly through the depths of the oceans. It is hand-braided with polyester cord manufactured with recycled plastic bottles, with the certificate that guarantees that the material has been produced in accordance with the Global Recycle Standard GRS. Olé Lighting has the goal to remove as much plastic as possible from the environment by incorporating it into our designs, involving our clients in the great impact that a small action can generate.
