Since 1967, Ceramica Catalano has had a consistent corporate culture based on innovation, craftsmanship and the highest quality, combined with the desire to always be in harmony with the environment and at the cutting edge of technology.
Now approaching its 60th anniversary in two years' time, the Italian company Catalano, based in Fabrica di Roma, has established itself in more than 60 countries. Nestled in one of the most beautiful landscapes along the Tiber River, it draws on traditions and craftsmanship that have been passed down here for generations. You can literally breathe in the spirit of history that has shaped and refined ceramic production here. It is therefore the perfect environment for a product that is not only sustainable and natural, but also designed and produced at this location, thus fully deserving the ‘Made in Italy’ quality label. This message is conveyed to the world on every single product, applied in an unalterable manner using a hot stamping process.

Pure beauty: The connection to nature is a top priority. This is achieved through sustainable production at a single location and the use of innovative technologies to reduce energy consumption.
With this exceptional starting position, Catalano focuses on the use of innovative technologies, which have been a constant companion of the company for over forty years. And for good reason, because they are part of its success. Investments in robotics, for example, have led to a very high degree of automation and precision, for example in the area of ‘smart manufacturing’. But it is not only modern technologies that Catalano knows how to use to its advantage, but also fundamental guidelines such as sustainable production, which has always been an uncompromising must. This is deeply rooted in the company's philosophy and forms the basis for its continuous growth and the associated improvement strategy. The optimisation processes in which the company regularly invests naturally include keeping a close eye on production, but also striving to significantly reduce energy consumption. This commitment is underpinned by the environmental certifications awarded to the company, which is proud that all its products are delivered worldwide from a single factory in Italy.

The Tonalità collection is based on a natural, eclectic colour palette that blends seamlessly with all other living areas.
Although Catalano specialises in bathroom furnishings, this area in particular is considered an important retreat in the context of the adjoining rooms, where one wants to connect with the emotional dynamics and homely character. And this is where colour comes into play, as it is best able to translate this dialogue. Catalano agrees with Wassily Kandinsky, who put it this way in his 1910 essay ‘Concerning the Spiritual in Art’: ‘Colour is a means by which one can exert a direct influence on the soul.’ Based on this synaesthetic reflection on the ‘inner sound’ of colours and their relationship to life, the choice of colours in interior design takes on special significance, as it has a major influence on the mood and overall atmosphere of a room. For Catalano, colour design is therefore an indispensable part of interior design and becomes an instrument of bien-vivre.

The toilets in the Tonalità collection feature the exclusive Twinglaze+ antibacterial coating – glossy on the inside, satin-finished on the outside.
Against this backdrop, the Tonalità collection was created, inspired and sustained by the beauty of nature, which lends the bathroom a touch of authenticity and serenity. From soft beige tones to delicate whites, from teal to deep blacks: this eclectic colour palette – Bianco, Cemento and Nero – evokes feelings of calm and simplicity, grounding and relaxing the user, and can also be combined perfectly with other interior design elements made of wood, stone or metal. However, colour is not all that Catalano has to offer here. The visually appealing design of the ergonomically shaped sanitary fittings, characterised by clean lines and sophisticated shapes, completes the picture. The icing on the cake is the exclusive Twinglaze+ antibacterial coating on the toilets, with a glossy glaze on the inside of the toilet bowl and a satin glaze on the outside, both of which ensure impeccable hygiene and sophisticated aesthetics.
