The Xingu Institute in Amazonia: building on the unbuildable

L’Institut Xingu en Amazonie : construire l’inconstructible _Olivier Raffaëlli

Guillaume Sibaud, architecte associé Triptyque Architecture

Speech by Guillaume Sibaud, associate architect, Triptyque Architecture.

Triptyque Architecture was founded fifteen years ago in Sao Paulo by four architects and urban planners. It is an internationally award-winning Franco-Brazilian practice that has established itself worldwide as a specialist in naturalist and sensualist architecture. Olivier Raffaelli & Guillaume Sibaud now head the French office. The agency's sensualist and biomimetic practice stems from its confrontation with the major urban crises experienced by emerging cities such as Sao Paulo in recent decades. Faced with the urgency and gravity of the ecological and social problems encountered in major urban regions, the agency has developed a personal, strong and committed style, working on the emergence of a naturalist architecture.
