The goal of construction must be to simplify buildings in general, with a strong focus on long-term usability. The primary objective should be to create buildings that are material-appropriate, microclimatically optimized, and as resource-neutral as possible—while avoiding a large portion of embodied energy from the very beginning. Renewable, preferably local and recyclable building materials retain their energetic potential even after reuse and should form the basis for evaluating the meaningfulness of any construction project.
