Heritage as Potential

Discussion conference organised by ARCHIZOOM

Existing buildings have always been a valuable resource for architecture. Today, this building stock is largely made up of modern architecture. Demolition is no longer the preferred approach. Instead, these buildings must be adapted to new uses, including those currently being considered for inclusion in the heritage inventory of the Canton of Vaud.

Between restoration, transformation and contemporary design, the focus is now on developing new approaches to intervention that are frugal, hybrid, multidisciplinary and context-sensitive.
