In the breach for our modernist heritage

In recent years and decades, many fine examples of our modernist heritage have had to make way for new construction projects. And then there are a lot of other modernist buildings that also face the threat of demolition. Why is it a must to be as careful with our recent heritage as we are with our centuries-old heritage. How do you decide what can and cannot be demolished? And is it feasible to make modernist buildings meet contemporary energy requirements? Architectura.be poses these questions to Luc Vanmuysen (a2o Architects), Brecht Van Duppen (Docomomo), Tom Verhofstadt (Urban.Brussels) and Jos Vandenbreeden (CIVA Brussels)
