Round table organised by FIBOIS France and moderated by Yolaine Paufichet, Vice-President of the National Council of the Order of Architects

Through a selection of projects that have won the National Wood Construction Award over the past ten years, this round table discussion highlights the possible integrations and uses of wood in contemporary architecture to address climate challenges. Between summer comfort, simplicity and the diversity of uses for the material, architects and professionals will share their experiences with innovative, frugal, and committed projects.

  • Biography L’Atelier du Rouget

L’Atelier du Rouget, led by Simon Teyssou since 2001, is an architecture firm based in Le Rouget (Cantal), with a branch in Clermont-Ferrand since 2019, employing around twenty people, including architects, landscape architects and construction economists. The agency works on multiple scales (housing, public facilities, urban planning, furniture) and takes a trans-scalar approach that links territorial, ecological and social dimensions, particularly in rural areas. It places a strong emphasis on quality of use, choice of materials, relationship to the site and the ecological footprint of the project, believing that ecology should be integrated from the design stage as a project opportunity.

Drawing on the forests of the Landes region, it develops innovative construction systems such as Épinlam® and straw-insulated frame walls. Led by Laurent Daudigny, it perfectly illustrates local roots, innovation and commitment to ecological transition.
