ROGER PRADIER® x BROSSIER SADERNE Edition An innovative concept: 100% bio-based, 100% recycled, 100% recyclable. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic Brick² by Roger Pradier®, its designer Stéphane Joyeux reinterprets it in a special edition made from an innovative material derived from recycled brewery grains: Balt®. Published by Brossier Saderne, this low environmental footprint luminaire is now available for indoor use. Balt® is a material produced from spent brewery grains, a by-product of the beer brewing process. The grains are dried using waste heat from nearby industries — without the use of primary energy — before being blended with a matrix made from recycled bio-based single-use food packaging. Without epoxy or petrochemical binders, the mixing of these two recycled materials and the natural caramelisation of sugars from the brewing process create a material that is 100% bio-based, 100% recycled and recyclable.
