Baffles are sound-absorbing elements for ceilings that enhance room acoustics. To optimise this effect, Recytex, a specialist in acoustic solutions made from nonwoven fabrics, has developed the innovative Baffle Configurator. It allows optimal arrangement of baffles and targeted acoustic improvement. The tool quickly calculates the frequency-dependent sound absorption coefficients of different baffle arrangements. The basis is a proprietary algorithm derived from numerous reverberation chamber measurements, which considers parameters such as suspension, baffle height, row spacing and material. In this way, room acoustics are improved through the targeted use of materials and planned in a cost-efficient manner.
