ARKANCE is a leading global service provider for the construction, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries, offering advanced capabilities and expertise through a worldwide and diverse team. Over the past 38 years, C3A has built a network of construction professionals through the C3A User Club, leaving a significant mark on BIM in Flanders. In early 2023, C3A joined Arkance to ensure the continuity and further development of this professional network. The largest group within the User Club consists of architectural design firms — positioned at the start of the BIM chain. They act as advisors to building owners and clients, and also guide the involved architectural & technical engineering firms and contractors working for investor-developers. This naturally aligns with ARKANCE’s large AEC client base, offering great synergy for future growth. In addition to core software, a working methodology has been developed — including templates, libraries, and automation tools for texts, calculations, sketches, drawings, and BIM models: the C3A Extensions, available through the User Club membership. Thanks to the C3A Methodology and these extensions, most design firms have already been automatically structuring their texts, drawings, and BIM models for years, in line with the C3A Convention. With the growing digital exchange of construction data among partners, this convention provides clear guidelines for the preparation and structure of data, contributing to much-needed standardization in the construction sector. To better reflect its focus on all construction partners, the C3A User Club will be renamed and expanded as the ARKANCE User Club starting in 2025.
