Buildings in need of renovation that do not score highly in terms of architectural culture are particularly at risk of demolition. In the case of the Altdorf fire station, however, the transformation was successful. With a sufficient approach and fresh design, the faceless building was transformed into a symbolic building that enhances the entrance to Altdorf.
