Neuroarchitecture, built space and the search for beauty

Antonio Di Maro, Founder & CEO di Antonio Di Maro & Partners, Valeria Pascale, Psicologa, Analista del Comportamento, Esperto in Neuropsicologia Clinica e Neuroscienze, Direttore ABA For Disability

Our brains respond to stimuli in the built environment, and good design can improve mental and physical well-being. Neuroarchitecture, which combines science and design, makes it possible to create spaces that promote concentration, healing and learning. Architects and researchers must work together to apply scientific theories to design, as demonstrated in 2014, when a waiting room at the Pausilipon Hospital in Naples was transformed into an artificial 'forest,' offering young patients a multisensory experience that recreates contact with nature.
