The sundial is the object that inspired Jean-Michel Wilmotte for Caleido's Raysun project, a radiator that carries within it the power of the sun's heat and the dynamic relationship with light based on the first form of measuring time, the first traces of which were lost at the dawn of history, on the banks of the Nile. The French architect, designer and urban planner brings to Caleido the versatility of his approach, capable of blending design, architecture and art to translate the spirit of time into living forms. Made mainly of aluminium, recyclable at the end of its life and produced with minimal water consumption, Raysun has a structure characterised by 11 fins arranged in a radial pattern around a semi-circular core. From this central element, the hidden core of the radiator, heat is radiated over the entire surface, stimulated by the empty spaces created by the fins, in a perfect symbiosis of functional and aesthetic requirements. The construction chooses the column as the basic element of the structure, evoking the design vocabulary of the Wilmotte studio in which this element is the protagonist.
